Chris is not just a consultancy based adviser he has over 20 years practical experience of fishery and freshwater management. His clients include the Environment Agency, Solway Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Allerdale Borough Council as well as angling clubs, syndicates,  farmers and private individuals.

Chris can offer advice about the design and construction of fisheries, wildlife ponds and can prepare detailed reports, undertake surveys and assist in the practical management of freshwater fisheries, lakes, rivers and streams.

He is actively involved in the day to day running of two fisheries, offering day and season ticket fishing for specimen bream, carp, chub, eels also perch, pike, roach, tench and jointly manages a carp syndicate water. Chris understands the needs of anglers and fishery owners and can offer advice upon and assistance with all aspects of fishery management including:

Water Quality, Improving the Production of Stillwater's, Fish Population Control, Habitat Improvements To Increase Spawning Success And Fry Survival, The Stocking Of Suitable Fish Species At The Correct Densities For Your Fishery, The Planting And Control of Aquatic Plants, Predation, Habitat Improvements For Fish, Wildlife and Anglers.

And because he is also involved in wildlife conservation and offers bird watching, pond dipping and angling tuition on his own and other fisheries, Chris is well placed to advise about these and other ways of diversifying or making your fishery more financially viable and how to resolve the problems that may arise on multi-user waters.

Chris believes that whilst fishery managers and owners should decide what they want from their fisheries and manage them accordingly, they should also consider the effects of that management regime and if those actions may detrimentally effect any native species of flora or fauna, particularly those species which may already be threatened, then they should think long and hard about that course of action. This is something Chris takes into account when advising fishery owners.
